Admission Process

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions for your child’s future, and we are honoured that you are considering Claire Junior School. We welcome applications from families seeking a nurturing environment where academic excellence, discipline, moral values, and holistic development are at the heart of every learner’s journey. Admissions are open throughout the year for our Nursery/Kindergarten and Primary sections (P.1–P.7), subject to the availability of places.

Our admission process is straightforward, transparent, and parent-friendly, making enrolment simple and stress-free. Entry Classes & Age Requirements

Admission Requirements

All applicants must provide the following documents at the time of application:

Completed Admission Application Form (available at the school office or downloadable below)
Original and photocopy of the child's Birth Certificate
Two recent passport-size photographs of the child
Previous school report card / academic transcript (for P.2 and above)
School transfer letter / Leaving Certificate from the previous school (for transfer pupils)
Proof of immunisation / vaccination card (for Nursery and P.1 entrants)
National ID or passport of parent/guardian

Interview / Assessment Information

To ensure every child is placed in the most appropriate class, all prospective pupils from Primary One (P.1) and above are required to attend a brief assessment. The assessment helps us understand each learner’s academic level, identify individual strengths, and provide any additional support needed for a successful start at Claire Junior School. Assessment requirements include:

Nursery / Baby Class: Observation-based developmental readiness assessment.
Primary One (P.1): OBasic literacy and numeracy readiness assessment.
Primary Two (P.2) – Primary Seven (P.7): Written assessments in English and Mathematics.
Parents or guardians: are kindly requested to accompany their child on the assessment day.

Assessment Schedule: Assessment sessions are typically conducted every Saturday morning. Parents and guardians are encouraged to contact the admissions office in advance to book a convenient assessment slot.

Application Process

Follow these simple steps to secure your child’s place at Claire Junior School:

Visit the school office or download the Application Form from this page.
Submit the completed form along with all required documents.
The admissions office will schedule an interview or assessment date.
Upon acceptance, confirm the placement by paying the Registration Fee and School Fees.

Transfer Student Requirements

Claire Junior School warmly welcomes pupils transferring from other registered primary schools in Uganda. Our admissions team works closely with parents and guardians to ensure a smooth transition, helping every learner settle comfortably into our academic and school community.

In addition to the standard admission requirements, transfer applicants should provide the following:

Depending on the class level, the school may conduct a placement assessment to determine the learner’s academic readiness and ensure appropriate class placement. This enables us to provide the support needed for a successful transition and continued academic progress.
